When I first got to Celestia I was 48, now I am Exalted before Khrysalis Part 2. So i think that you should do some side quests and definitely a side world like Wysteria or Grizzleheim, if you havent already, before you go any further. But I did okay so I think you're fine.
If you can survive, it's fine. If not, go back and do Wintertusk. Just keep in mind that while Wintertusk has amazing XP the start of it is (IMO) harder then the start of Celestia. If Wintertusk is too hard get friends or go back and side quest Dragonspyre if possible. Pack TC shields if worst comes to worst in Wintertusk. It's perfectly fine, but since it's pretty hard to get Critical or Crit Block (not counting critical from pets) before level 50 you might (read: might. ) want to take a step back.
