chat is small and not working right?

so my problem is, every time i press 'enter' my window for the chat doesn't pop up? is this a bug/glitch? or what?
it is in the lower left corner of my screen, i can see the chat ICONS, not the chat box itself. how do i fix this?

You might try changing your game resolution to see if that helps.
