Your wizard's actions are fairly well reproduced (but delayed) for everybody else to see. You can run around, change directions etc. Except hopping! The hopping action (space bar) is not placed in proper sequence with other actions.
So when you think you are stylishly hopping and playing in the Wizard City pond, other wizards don't see it that way.
Example1: run, run, run, run, hop -> gets seen by others as: hop, run, run, run, run
Example2: hop+run (jump forward) -> gets seen by others as: hop, pauuuse.... run
