I just started doing the daily assignments, and after I did the intro quest, the computer told me I had collected the house item that will give me the daily assignments (so I don't have to go back to the person in Ravenwood every time). However, when I went home and tried to put it down, it wasn't in my inventory! I've checked my attic, my bank, and my shared bank. It's not anywhere.
