The Cosmic Kris recipe states it needs the Basic Crafting Station. However, when it was time to create the kris, the basic station said I can't create that here. When I tried to create it on the Equipment Crafting Station, I created the kris with no problem.
Since the kris is equipment, I suspect the error is in the recipe.
just another of those annoying bugs that should be very simple to correct.
