So I'm doing the Ironworks with some people I met. They have mounts, but I don't, so they get to the NPCs faster. They keep getting like, 1,000 xp from talking to them when I just get 0, but I haven't done this before on this wizard! Why???

You probably are getting the xp and you just haven't noticed it appearing above your wizard.
