pet not doing anything

My kraken pet has ablitys that it may cast stormblade or stormtrap but this seems for me to be very rare, and when it does it's like right at the end of the battle. So I'm wondering if this is happening to anyone else.

yeah, my pet is supposed to cast Spritely, but as of yet, he has never cast a single sprite.
