I had just defeated some greyhorn mercenaries. I collected some red orbs to heal myself, and they healed a really large number much higher than my health. Has this happened to anyone else?
Probably just a visual glitch or lag. You probably hit 2 and showed the numbers same time. You get 25% max health for each except the last one. Even with the 50% wisp boost jewel, you never get more than just enough to fill your health or mana.
