We won a battle after 2 rounds in Waterworks?

On the 2nd battle encounter in the Waterworks, the 4 of us bladed up, and then the 2nd turn without even doing damage, we got the VICTORY message and exit battle. However the badguys did not disappear and we had to restart :(
