Every time I start the game since the update, it patches what appears to be hundreds of files. I can't tell if they are the same files each time though, they scroll by too fast. Usually the patch goes one time and nothing after that till the next change.
Well, it took a long time to load for me too yesterday. It was most likely because of all the new updates Wizard101 made. So it pretty much had to load everything all over again.
