I just got shadow magic and I'm so excited, I tested it on rattlebones, and when it finished backlash was 1,626 I didn't realize it could do that much

Yeah if you don't do what the shadow striker or Seraph wants, backlash can get HUGE. Blades, traps, and hits decrease backlash on the striker, and anything to do with heals (healing blades, healing spells, etc.) decreases backlash on the Seraph.
