I am having a PvP tournament on March 3rd, 2012 at 1pm Central.

This tournament requires no prior knowledge of PvP, and there will be one player from each school (2 from Balance). While you need no experience, you may want some as you will not want your school to lose!

Requirements:
~Level 70
~Being the first from your school to "sign up"
~No crowns (the matches are all practice)

The tournament will be split up into three rounds - the 1v1 round, the 2v2 round, and the 4v4 round.

THE 1v1 ROUND
The first battle fought in the tournament is between the two students from Balance.

The second is between the Storm and Myth representatives.

The third is between the Life and Death representatives.

The fourth is between the Fire and Ice representatives.

The fifth is between the winner of the Balance/Balance and Storm/Myth matches.

The sixth is between the winner of the Life/Death and Fire/Ice matches.

The seventh and final battle is between the winners of battles 5 and 6.

This round will be scored as follows:
Winning gives you 4 points
Losing in the final round gives you 3 points
Losing in the second preliminary round gives you 2 points
Losing in the first preliminary round gives you 1 point

THE 2v2 ROUND
The first battle in this round is between a Balance + Balance team and a Storm + Myth team.

The second is between a Life + Death team and a Fire + Ice team.

The third and final battle is between the winning teams of battles 1 and 2.

This round will be scored as follows:
If the winning team has both players alive, 4 points
If the winning team has one player alive, both players get 3 points
Losing in the final round gives each player 2 points
Losing in the preliminary round gives each player 1 point

THE 4v4 ROUND
There is only one battle in this round:
Balance + Balance + Storm + Myth VS. Life + Death + Fire + Ice

This round will be scored as follows:
If the winning team has all players alive, 4 points
If the winning team has 3 players alive, all players get 3 points
If the winning team has 1-2 players alive, all players get 2 points
Losing the battle gives each player 1 point

The player with the highest point total gets to 1v1 me!

There are some things you should explain in detail, and I'm wary of tournaments because of individual peeves one might have. So for a little guide, for your sake:

Do you allow treasures? Do you allow treasure blade stack?

Is there going to be a cap on resist? Say, no higher than 45% universal resist?

Will there be a cap on the damage boost as well? Like no higher than 75%

Why in this tournament must one element go against a particular element?

Any rules on certain pets? You already said no crowns so I take it sea dragons and crown wands are out. That's all well and good. But I think anyone who may take interest in this might need some more information.

Oh, way to plan ahead! March 3rd XD good job.

That's it? Winning points gets us a chance to fight you? That's kind of lame, most Tournaments offer a prize of some sort.

1. Treasures must be from YOUR school. For example, a Fire can't spam treasure tower after treasure tower.
2 & 3. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I won't limit damage but no higher than, say 350% total resistance (add up the resistance %s).
4. Because then people would be calling battles, e.g. if someone was awesome vs. balance, they would call fighting a balance. That would be unfair, hence the pre-determined battles.
5. There was a misunderstanding somewhere in there. The MATCHES don't cost crowns. Pets and wands are fine no matter what, but no dominating level 70 and/or PvP gear.
6. ;)
Hope that cleared things up. Mindy Ironcaller, out.

Meet by the Unicorn Park statue on the big day. If you don't show by:
11 am Pacific
12 pm Mountain
1 pm Central
2 pm Eastern
...then consider yourself eliminated. I'll be by the statue starting 12:45 (central time). Mindy Ironcaller, out.

I hope you don't find this annoying, I'm just really trying to help here. There are a few things that need some adjusting, both just for your sake and for the sake of clarity in general.

About the resistance, resistance does not stack as you are seeing it. If you could have 350% resist with shields and things this game would be seriously broken. When you place two towers, say a pet -50 and a trained -50, the damage coming in isn't 0 damage. It is a stair step system.
So, 1000--50%=500 then 500--50%=250 damage taken. like that. I suggest that if you want this tournament to be friendly and open to all that you consider a certain cap on resist for general players. You might get some hardcore players who would try to rush in with say 47% global resist or something. Of course, the choice is yours but I would say capping it at 39% would be a fair thing to do and it would feel a bit friendlier for all players then.

In regards to the crowns matches, I think I understand now what you meant. For those without a membership, ranked matches will cost you crowns. It would be pretty difficult to do this in ranked anyway if all our opponents are being predetermined. So just for clarity, you probably just meant no ranked matches

And that's it from me. Hope you can get this going well.

I am saying (for the 350% resist) thing, if you have 45% global resist then that would be 45+45+45+45+45+45+45 which is 315 total, which is okay. If you had 51% global resist you cannot have 51+51+51+51+51+51+51, or 355 total. If you had 85% storm and 75% fire reist, that would be 160 total, which is fine.

P.S. Do you want to join?

Sarcastic reply: Oh, okay, let me go grab $25 to get a mount for the winner.

Practical reply: Good point.
7 or more points = Dragon's Hoard Pack + Kirin's Hoard Pack.
10 or more points = Choose: Mega-Snack Pack OR 5 "Creature" Packs of your choice, i.e. 4 Dragon's Hoard, 1 Raven's Hoard.
A perfect 12 OR defeating me = Mega-Snack Pack AND 5 "Creature" Packs of your choice.
Defeating me with a perfect 12 = Any >10K permanent mount, Mega-Snack Pack, plus 8 "Creature" Packs of your choice.

Thanks for the info, Mindy Ironcaller out.

Btw about the only tower shields from your school thing? I think that should be removed especially since some people carry pierce shatters heals weaknesses and such in their treasure deck I don't think that should be limited. Sincerely the only rules should be : Must be level 70, and at least knight rank for experience.

Well resist does not stack like that at all which was why the original mention of 350% resist was so confusing. But I understand now, you do have a cap then. It is 45% global, ok.

I don't know if I will join. I'm trying to cut down. Need to focus on other bigger personal priorities. I need to retire from PvP :p It's too much. And so distracting.

The idea is that you should still be able to participate even if you are lower ranked, so knight XP shouldn't be required.

1. Thanks for understanding, but the cap is 50% global (50*7=350). As long as the total of the numbers in your spellbook don't go above 350, you're good.

2. Okay, so 3 hours of PvP will throw off your game experience. I see.
