It's all in the RNG.
Usually what you described happens when you have 10-18% critical chance.
But yes, you do usually critical when it's unnecessary.

well, there could be some way out mathematical solution.....but in reality this is a computer brained game so "pot-luck" comes to mind!....I'm saying this with humor by the way...yes, when you really want a crit. throw and it doesnt happen all one can say is "dang!"

When you have 85% critical chance and don't critical like 6 times in a row there is something wrong.
