When I was doing the 5 Boxes quest (love it), and when I went into the giant house on the shell for that one mission. I was exploring around, I happened to glance over at some paintings, and I couldn't believe what I saw. This wasn't an ordinary painting, it looked to be a photo of something from in-game. A screenshot. But, Paintings in this game are almost always of concept art, or just things drawn by the developers. Sometimes there are paintings of things in the game, but this isn't a concept artwork, and it's not in the game. I began asking myself: what could it be? And then I asked myself....was content that was originally supposed to be put in the game, locked out or cut from the user-base? I mean, these were screenshots of fully textured, Thee dimensional worlds that looked like they belonged right home at darkmoor. All that seemed to be finished with it was to be populated with NPC and maybe some enemies. But it begs the question, what happened to it? Why is it not in the game? Was it takes out due to budgetary reasons? Because why would KI develop and create something for us to explore and enjoy, just to have it removed? I personally don't see this as such a big deal, but I'm still wondering about it's place. If you wanna check it out, go to the 5 boxes event in Mooshu, and play until you reach the house on the giant shell. They should be hanging on a wall in the back of the room.
So what do you guys think of this occurrence? A coincidence? A hidden teaser for a future expansion? Feel free to let me know in the comments below what ya think.
