Could someone please explain to me what this spell does and how it is useful? So far I cannot understand what use it is. Thanks!

Let's say for instance you cast a Fire Elf or Snow Angel or any other damage-over-time spell on an enemy. It does damage on the initial hit then you have three rounds of over-time damage...if you cast detonate on that enemy the next round it will cause ALL of the damage to be applied immediately that would normally have been done over the next three rounds.
Not so sure I find that very useful. If you use all your pips when you cast the initial spell, then you got to wait a round or so to cast detonate. Then by that time the over time spell is over anyway. Will probably never use it. Not near as good as the spell Storm gets at that Level. Enfeeble. Oh well... If any fire out there use it please tell me how good you think it is and why please.
