I keep hearing all this ridiculous rumors and assumptions that Aquila and Empyrea are the same. That somehow Empyrea just turned into Aquila. I do not see any hard facts that can prove this. Yes, by description, each world has some similarities, but that does not mean that they are the same thing.
Aquila is a Latin name of a constellation which means "eagle". This constellation also represents the eagle that carried Zues' thunderbolts in Greek Mythology. The world that got the name Aquila is a Greek and Roman inspired world and uses Eagles and Hawks as the dominent inhabitants. That makes sense as then the whole world follows a Greek/Roman theme.
Emyprea comes from the words "empyrean" which means the highest heaven and the sky, firmament (which further means "the sky viewed poetically as a solid arch or vault")and "empyreal" which means of, portaining to, or in the sky or celestial. These words come from the Medival Latin word "empyreus" and the Greek "empyrus" both meaning "fiery" and in or on the fire. The major descriptions we know of this world in-game is that it is a Sky world. That makes sense as empyrean also means that the highest heaven was occupied by fire and light. Aquila has not relation to this.
No evidence further shows to me that Empyrea and Aquila are the same. If you disagree, I would appreciate an explanation as to how Empyrea evolved into Aquila or even better where this myth came from. Aquila has not mentions of Empyrea. In Wysteria, Weirwood was mentioned in becoming the world that is now Avalon. To clear up any confusion, KI created a region of Avalon called Weirwood, which shows a name change, but still keeping the original contexts. Had this happened again, Aquila would have a region or area or mentioning of Empyrea, but it does not. This tells me they are completely seperate worlds.
