I am running two accounts. I would get pulled away from the comp and come back to where my main account has been logged out due to inactivity while my second account seems to still be logged in. It happens all the time. When I start my two accounts they are a second or two apart of each other when logging in but yet my second account seems to be on a longer inactivity timer than my main account. Both accounts are paid subscriptions.
Your activity timer starts whenever you switch between the windows. So if you've been doing something in one window for a few mins then go away, the second window will have been inactive longer.

This pretty much sums it up.
Something to also consider is two person mounts, if you have them. I believe switching areas counts as activity (like say you move from The Commons to Ravenwood), but just walking around doesn't. I've had that happen where I was running around just talking to NPC's and the wizard on the account that was just coming for the right got logged out.
Even gardening doesn't seem to count as activity. I've been logged out gardening because I didn't move my character with the arrow keys, they just moved when I clicked on a new spot to place a plot or when I clicked on a plot to plant a seed.
Before you go away from the computer or even while you're playing, pop over to the second account periodically (when they're going a long time without doing anything) and just give one of the arrows keys a tap. That will reset the activity timer.
