I am a huge fan of Malistaire Drake and totally understand where he was coming from. The thought I had was, why can a person in this game not have the option of joining Malistaire instead of fighting him.

When I had the last mission for Dragonspyre, all I wanted to do was join Malistaire not defeat him. I know that defeats the fun family attitude of this game, but in RL people would have been able to choose sides in a conflict.

So I am just saying. I wish I could have joined Malistaire Drake.

i would have totally gone for this, too; he is my favourite npc, and has been from the very beginning. he's such a beautiful, brilliant mess of a character (and a fan-fic writer's dream come true), truly unique and well-fleshed-out.

ki could have easily ruined him, turned him into a cookie-cutter disney villain (*cough* morganthe *cough*), and i am so glad they didn't.

my wizards would all join him, if they could.
