Maybe, but i think its comes from the goddess Nemesis, or the Egyptian afterlife (weighing of the heart)

Hmm, I looked on Google images, and they look very similar. But you may have a point, I'm not one to judge what KingsIsle chooses to put in their game. I'll have to look into it more.
