Are there any permanent mounts in game available from doing quests, mob drops, crafting, or gold purchase? Or are all mounts an additional crowns fee?
There are some permanent mounts in the Crown shop which can be purchased with gold. I believe some of the Lions or other big cats are included as well as Broomsticks.
one can also receive perma mounts from bosses on rare occasions when they choose to drop. there are also craftable mounts sold from a vendor in aquilla! :)
It costs a lot of gold but you can get permanent mounts with just gold, the lion, tiger, black stallion, tiger, and broom and some others all with just gold, I got about 4 or 5.
