that's the most common trend i see in-game~ that and the elegant hat/robe/boots combo for girl wizards, or pvp gear. but i don't wear any of those... i stitch a lot, though my main wizard's current combo is the midterm, guardian's robe, and vindicator's boots (they are stitched with my elite gear).
after many months of experimenting with my wizard's clothes, i recently switched back to my guardian's robe (since it's easier to match the dye job with my mount~ usually black and green, to go with my nightrunner).
i also switched my wand back to an old favourite~ my lunar scepter of anubis is now stitched with my old dragonrider's balanceblade, which i've had since level 60ish.
Something different for everyone. One wizard has Guardian. Another has Darkwraith's Atonement. I bought some of the bundles (Winterbane, Dino, Pagoda, Prehistoric) so I have wizards who wear that gear.
I've got Umbra Blades, bows, and swords and shields for my stitched wands. Some I haven't bothered to stitch yet, they're still their original look.
I don't have a defined look for all of my wizards. The only thing they all have in common is that they all have the Golem Tower Champion badge as the one they "display".
I just switched to: The Foxtrot, Knight's Cuirass, Knight's Sabatons, with Seraph wings. These are stitched with Wintertusk gear, that had been worn with Swiftshadow wings. I was stitching my favorite staff with whatever was strongest in my collection, but it looked so strange in combat when this sparkly staff was swung like a sword, that I stopped. I usually dye everything Dark Blue with Dark Purple trim. Then depending on the fixed color (usually a white or black) I choose a pair of wings to match. Eloise and the Dye Shop are regular stopping places anytime I change gear. Legendary with a minor.
