I am level 5. Why is my pixie spell unavailable sometimes and available others. Other spells also, such as my lightning bats. It is gray and then for some reason becomes castable. Why is this?

At the top of the card is a number. This number is how many pips you need to cast the spell. It is also how much mana it will use. When the spell is gray it means you need more pips to cast. When you want to use the spell simply pass to gain another pip or cast a spell that cost zero pips, such as a wand hit, blade, shield, trap, etc.

See your wizard on the battlefield? Those lights in front of him/her are called "pips." See the number

on the upper left part of the card? That is the amount of "pips" and "mana" you need to cast the spell. At level 10,

you will receive 10% base "power pip" chance. Power pips count as 2 pips for your school of focus only. Both

Pixie and Lightning Bats are rank 2 spells. They are greyed out because you either do not have enough pips or

you do not have enough mana. If your 2D display is turned on, you can see the amount of pips you have under

your name/health.

Sincerely, Justin Goldrider, Jeremy Jade, and others.

Hey there, and welcome to the game! I'll try and explain this as best I can:

In order to cast spells, you need pips. Those are the glowing balls by your feet. Every spell has a pip cost, which is indicated by a number in the left corner of every spell card~ for example, if you are a fire wizard, your Fire Cat spell has a #1 in the corner, meaning that the spell costs 1 pip to cast.

There are 2 kinds of pips. A normal one (which is white) and a power pip (yellow).

1 power pip=2 regular pips, but for your school of focus only. If you are a fire wizard and have 1 power pip, you can cast a 2-pip spell from your school (ie Fire Elf) OR a rank 1 spell from any of the others (dark sprite, etc.). Because your pixie spell is from a school other than your main, you will need 2 pips (white OR yellow) to cast it.

The exception to the above is if you have a mastery amulet. Most PvE players don't need them, but they are something of a status symbol in PvP. Note that these are expensive Crowns items, though, so choose wisely.

Once again, welcome to the Spiral!

That would be because of your pip count.

If you have two pips, you can cast Lightning Bats. Ever noticed the number on the upper left side of the spell card? That's how many pips a spell requires. Pips are the white (sometimes yellow!) spheres at your wizard's feet in combat. White pips count for one pip, while yellow ones count for two.

This young wizard, is something called pips (power points), pixie and lightning bats cost 2 pips, pips are the white or yellow dots around your feet, if they are white they count as one pip for any school. If you have a yellow pip, it counts as two pips for YOUR ORIGINAL SCHOOL. If you pay attention to the people on the right hand side, the tutorial pips and do the Diego quests, then you will understand this. Hope this helps...

This is actually quite simple(mind you I had the same issue when I started). If you look on the circle surrounding your wizard or on the part that shows your health, you'll see white orbs (or sometimes yellow). These are your pips, the amount of pips you have determines what spells you can cast. if a spell has a 2 in a triangle, it requires 2 pips.

Look at the top left of the card. See the number? That is how many pips and mana you need to cast that spell. To gain pips, pass or use a spell with 0 as the number. Mana is the blue stuff in a crystal ball at the bottom of the screen. The pixie and lightning bats both need 2 pips and 2 mana. Hope this helps!

You need enough pips.
