While submitting feedback to KingsIsle Support, I've been asked to open a thread on the forums to relate my ideas to the game. I've been playing this game constantly for the past 2 and a half years, but I've been playing on different accounts since February 2009. As I've worked in Video Game Development for Electronic Arts for 2 years, I know how it works, therefore I decided to propose something for the game.
As the arc ended, for sure they will take a break from developing an already enormous world to quest in, and improve the game on other aspects.
First suggestion:
Implement a Level 100 Boost, available for 60,000 Crowns in the Crown Shop;
Users must apply the boost on characters that are level 50;
Users must own another character that is level 100 or higher;
Users will be granted gear that is 25% worse than Darkmoor Gear;
This will let players develop characters faster, also raising funds for the developer.
For example, I would pay 60,000 Crowns to skip Azteca and Khrysalis, as I've struggled with them on past accounts, but to do this, I have to play the first arc, which is easy and boring for experienced players, so I can pay 30,000 Crowns to skip it. Therefore, I only have to experience the first two arcs once in order to play the later worlds with another school.
Second suggestion: Implement a Level 130 One-Shot Gauntlet, available for 1,000 Crowns in the Crown Shop; Implement a Level 130 Dungeon, available for FREE; Most likely is already in Development in Wizard City; The enemies would be: Jade Oni, Malistaire and Poseidon. This would drop useful gear. This would give players more activities to perform and grant them the variety of gear, which this game lacks and needs.
I like these ideas, but I think 60,000 crowns is a little pricey to use if you're already level 50. I think it should be allowed to use from level 1. 90,000 crowns to skip to level 100 is a little bit pricey as is, and that does not get you to the max level of this game. There's lots of other games that cost far less in terms of prices to do these same things. I do however think the idea of 60,000 to jump to 100 is a good idea.
I like the dungeon gear idea; however I really think that if this is so, it REALLY needs to have serious balancing issues and effects in PvP, particularly with health scaling - shadow spells are a little too powerful for the low opportunity cost that they already are. I speak from seeing the effects of Darkmoor and Hades and what that has lead as far as PvP's current state.
On the 130 dungeon ideas, personally the Malistaire idea irks me. Can we STOP with Malistaire already? We fought him in DS, Azteca, and had a dungeon themed around his ghost finding rest. Let's leave the poor man alone already! I think Jade Oni is appropriate and Poseidon seems a little bit of an oddball choice for an end-game boss. I was thinking more along the lines of Morganthe (since she is currently just "floating" in the "void.")
