Hi guys! I had an idea, I thought, hey, wouldn't it be cool to see the teachers fight against each other in a little 1v1?
So, like on the Ravenwood News, it would state that like every monday, tuesday, wednesday, etc there will be a teacher duel in the arena. It would state what teachers are dueling and a link for the leaderboards. Every year, whoever gets the most wins, that school gets something special.
The dueling would be totally randomized, KI can decide if they get heals or not, and it would be a fun thing that everyone could watch.
Tell me down below if you think this is a good or bad idea. Thanks!
I think this would be awesome, but the AI for computer controlled mobs is pretty linear and predictable. Maybe if PVP commander level players could apply to participate in feature matches where they "polymorph" into a professor somewhere in the Spiral, and get a fixed deck/set of gear and fixed attributes. They then use their raw skills to steer these professors to victory over their peers from competing schools of magic.
These battles would be held in a special Arena where anyone can spectate. All matches would be 1v1, at least in the beginning.
Each player would have the opportunity to do minor tweaks to his/her gear and deck from a limited pool of resources in each professor's "backpack" to allow for differences in play style and expected matchups. For instance, he or she would have 2-4 different wands to choose from, 2-3 different athame and/or ring choices, 2 or 3 amulet choices.
If pets become part of this feature, the player will get the Mega standard school pet for his or her level. For instance, a level 60 warlord steering Moolinda Wu in battle would get a mega Forest Lord. His/her storm opponent would also be level 55-65 and enter the ring with a mega Kraken. As with real pets, talents would be revealed at random. This way, no two battles steering the same professor will develop the same way. One match you might have Storm Shot, the next you may have Storm Shield instead.
Prizes and awards would be school-related and possibly transferable to pvp or pve. To encourage high level PVP players to step up and volunteer, these would be somewhat valuable but not unbalancing.
