First of all, I believe you mean "threat". When a spell says it reduces the threat on an enemy, this will make it attack you a bit less. If a spell says it increases the threat, the enemy will target you more. This would be useful if your friends in battle are almost dead and they need to heal. Correct me if i'm wrong.
