Mr Lincoln will only offer the buy back option to players who are over level 12. If you're under level 12, you can wait until you level, or start a new character to choose a different secondary school.
If Mr Lincoln still won't let you return your spell cards for the training points, it may be a technical glitch. Please send him an email at support@wizard101.com to find out why this is happening.
Keep in mind, if you haven't spent training points, he'll have nothing to sell you back.
If you want the prize, you have to build the ladder rung by rung. There are no shortcuts.
