I decided to write a little something as a Christmas present for the community. Some won't find it funny, but I think that others will. While I acknowledge that there are elements of Wizard 101 which should be addressed by KI due to issues of balance, I know that I personally get tired of hearing that everything which does not go well for people is somehow "cheating". It is with that in mind that I have written "The twelve posts of cheating" to the Christmas tune "The twelve days of Christmas". Enjoy!
On the first post of cheating, the forum said to me: You need to improve your strategy.
On the second post of cheating, the forum said to me: You should buy some shields. and you need to improve your strategy.
On the third post of cheating, the forum said to me: Have you tried a weakness? You should buy some shields. and you need to improve your strategy.
On the fourth post of cheating, the forum said to me: Try to turn the tables. Have you tried a weakness? You should buy some shields. and you need to improve your strategy.
By the fifth post of cheating, their patience waned with me: Why must you whine? Try to turn the tables. Have you tried a weakness? You should buy some shields. and you need to improve your strategy.
On the sixth post of cheating, the forum said to me: Balance needs no shield. Why must you whine? Try to turn the tables. Have you tried a weakness? You should buy some shields. and you need to improve your strategy.
On the seventh post of cheating, the forum said to me: Storm health offsets damage. Balance needs no shield. Why must you whine? Try to turn the tables. Have you tried a weakness? You should buy some shields. and you need to improve your strategy.
On the eighth post of cheating, the forum said to me: Judgement isn't cheating. Storm health offsets damage. Balance needs no shield. Why must you whine? Try to turn the tables. Have you tried a weakness? You should buy some shields. and you need to improve your strategy.
On the ninth post of cheating, the forum said to me: Life can't heal forever. Judgement isn't cheating. Storm health offsets damage. Balance needs no shield. Why must you whine? Try to turn the tables. Have you tried a weakness? You should buy some shields. and you need to improve your strategy.
On the tenth post of cheating, the forum said to me: PvP's not broken. Life can't heal forever. Judgement isn't cheating. Storm health offsets damage. Balance needs no shield. Why must you whine? Try to turn the tables. Have you tried a weakness? You should buy some shields. and you need to improve your strategy.
On the eleventh post of cheating, the forum said to me: Ice resistance falters. PvP's not broken. Life can't heal forever. Judgement isn't cheating. Storm health offsets damage. Balance needs no shield. Why must you whine? Try to turn the tables. Have you tried a weakness? You should buy some shields. and you need to improve your strategy.
On the twelfth post of cheating, the forum said to me: Please stop your complaining. Ice resistance falters. PvP's not broken. Life can't heal forever. Judgement isn't cheating. Storm health offsets damage. Balance needs no shield. Why must you whine? Try to turn the tables. Have you tried a weakness? You should buy some shields. and you need to improve your strategy.
Thanks so much for this fun way to look at all the complaints and in such a seasonal way too. We hear so many spoofs of the 12 Days of Christmas and this one fits in wonderfully.
So many players seem to forget that we don't have a "right" to win at everything we do and that life is very seldom fair. Learning from our mistakes is part of the maturing process. Losing doesn't mean someone else did something bad or wrong. We all have to learn to take responsibility, even if only in a small way, such as in a game that matters not to the rest of the world. It's a game, and meant to be fun. If they aren't having fun, why play? Constructive criticism is not bad, but most of the complaints I read here don't meet the definition of constructive criticism. I'm often reminded of the old saying that "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
So, thanks again for the spoof. I laughed as I read it. You have a wonderful and creative sense of humor.

Well thank you. The first one I wrote was to Handel's Messiah, the hallelujah chorus... but KI didn't post that one for some reason. I'm guessing its because it didn't have an explanatory paragraph at the beginning? I don't know for sure but it really doesn't matter. Chances are it wouldn't have been as funny as its much harder to sing along to that one. Anyway, I just get agitated with the idea that you can "cheat" in a video game (you can, but it requires hacking which is very difficult to do on an MMORPG). Are there dishonorable people using underhanded tactics and exploiting bugs or poorly thought out rules? Yes. There are. But that isn't cheating and those things generally get fixed as they are reported to KI. Anyway, its just my two cents worth.
Oh, gtarhannon, oh, gtarhannon, how funny is this message. Oh, gtarhannon, oh, gtarhannon, how funny is this message. You did not wane in your defense of how KI fair limits set; Oh, gtarhannon, oh, gtarhannon, how funny is this message.
... Well, I tried. Hmm, an "Oh Tannenbaum" knockoff similar to your "12 Days" knockoff...
now if only we could hear in it full glorious sound with full choir and orchestrated music lol i would be sure to bust a gut laughing so hard that is wonderful

Ok, I figured out part of it, and will add as it goes along. Here goes...
"Oh, whining guys, oh, whining guys, Why can't you learn to strategize? Oh, whining guys, oh, whining guys, Why can't you learn to strategize? You couldn't Shield to save your life; But that's no cause to cause us strife. Oh, whining guys, oh, whining guys, Why can't you learn to strategize?"
"Oh, petty whi-ners with no sense, More things than Shields count as defense! Oh, petty whi-ners with no sense, More things than Shields count as defense! Take their Blades or use weak'ning Spells, Put them on defense or Dispell. Oh, petty whi-ners with no sense, More things than Shields count as defense!"
That's all I have thus far. We could turn this into a competition... :D
