no spell casting

hey today i was helping a friend with shakes o'leary but towards the2nd round it wouldnt let me cast ANYTHING so now i just sitting there taking up space can you tell me what happened or fix this? ( both would be nice actually.)

My top guesses are you did not have enough pips to cast a spell or were out of mana.

I had a similar problem once. I thought it was just lag was causing the game to think I had selected a sun boost damage card when I didn't have any available.

Kind of like when someone uses beguile and once the effects have worn off, I still can't attack them without using an AoE spell.
