Hi, I have a question about critical. Can you get critical every time? My critical rating is over 100, does that have anything to do with it? I have know idea. Please help!!!
Critical is rare you see. You should go test it on some enemies and see for your self but beware if you fight higher lvl enemies they could have a chance to block your critical!
It's not a percentage, it's a number. The PvP players could tell you how the number correlates to the percentage, but my understanding is that you can't ever get 100% Critical.

In theory, you probably could get critical every time, but in reality, no. My critical rating for my Ice wizard is 60% but I pull critical a lot less than that.
I sometimes wonder if the programmers don't sometimes mess with the critical chance some players have. I've noticed my critical hits have gone way down since I've played in PvP, and I mean all of a sudden like and not come back like they had been. Then you think perhaps it is just you and then you play with others in the game with the same school and same critical chance you have and notice that they hit it way more than you do.
I think it goes up to a rating of 500, not 100. :(
This is correct, the max number is just around 500, so if you had a 60, to calculate the percentage you would do this: (60 * 100) / 500 = the percentage of 12% (1 in 8.333 chance of going crit).
With the example that started this, of 100 it would be, (100 * 100) / 500 = percentage of 20% or a 1 in 5 chance you will go crit.
And if you had a 120 rating, it would be, (120 * 100) / 500 = 24%, real close to 1 crit every four times.
