My understanding is that the animation isn't correct. The pet's spell does Fire damage but appears to be doing Storm damage. Perhaps somebody with this pet could check in.
the person prolly had a burninator instead of burnzilla. They are commonly mistaken although the burninator has black stripes down it's back and gives a stormzilla card.

did the pet do its little dance move because if it doesnt then its not the pets spell its just a stormzilla spell

Yes, this is most likely what happened. You mistook the burninator pet for the burnzilla, they look almost exactly alike, although the burninator has stripes on his back and is mix if stormzilla and helephant, and gives a stormzilla card.
