I tried 1v1 pvp a few times over the last year with my normal pve higher leveled mages and decided I had a lot of reading to do to be any good.
Rather than take my myth, death, fire and balance higher leveled players to Mr. Lincoln and spend crowns to retrain them, I decided to make a new player dedicated to just 1v1 PVP. From my own prior experience with it, I decided against 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 for the simple reason that I had tried them three times with a level 30 friend. Each match we got a high level 60 player with a low level 5 twice and once with a low level 1. Observing their stats, I was amazed to see hundreds of losses and wins. Of course each was a warlord and each had full commander arena gear. Granted, three times in a row is probably not a good test, but I had had enough because in looking at various pvp players standing around, I saw similar win loss numbers in many of them and a high level often was accompanied by a friend who was level 5 or less. So 2v2 or more is out. Do you agree with my decision?
1v1 has it own problem with the computer mismatching either rank or level or both. However, unlike the above problem which is man made, I can deal with the mismatch better, up to a point. I decided to keep my new pvp death mage at level 30 and as I advanced in rank, I began to see him pitted against level 50 something or even level 60 something. The worst mismatch was a level 66 ice with over 4000 health staring at my 1500 health. So my thoughts on this is that you have to work hard with lower levels to get to warlord. So, to be competitive, I had to do what I have seen many lower level commanders and warlords do, use high level treasure cards. I also see with their win loss numbers that they certainly had to down rank in order to get their commander gear. For lower levels to remain in commander and warlord status, they must use high level, sometimes off school treasure cards as well. For commander and warlord lower levels to survive high level spells, they must have full commander arena gear. Do you agree?
Now for the final thought, I would be crazy if I made it to warlord to continue to pvp with a level 30 death mage. I should retire him. I cannot, even with arena gear and high level cards keep a high win ratio playing against high level warlords. I believe that once you are high commander and warlord, you constantly get high ranked, high leveled opponents. Of course this is correct, if you are a warlord after all, but how can a level 30 keep his rank against majority matchs 30 levels higher? There is simply no way to compete with criticals and huge damage spells constantly enough to keep your rank. Am I wrong to retire him?
p.s. I have no desire to level him up. I have a stable of high level mages. This one is very good at pvp. The others, not good without spending crowns.

If you treasure your rank i suggest you retire, pvp rewarding system is bleak if you fight a legend with your lvl 30 the most points you would get is like ten.
My definition of mid level is around level 30. Let me summarize my original message:
Team pvp is broken because of so many high levels teaming with the lowest of levels in order to get a team half the high level player. This causes complaints and many will not play it for that reason.
If you play pvp as a mid level, you must get all the commander gear in order to be competitive with the higher ranks that commanders and warlords are pitted against. Unless you have months of time on your hands this encourages down ranking which causes complaints.
To be competitive as a commander and warlord with mid level, you almost certainly play high level treasure cards and sometimes high level off school treasure cards. This causes complaints.
You cannot maintain your rank as warlord if you are mid level because of the majority opponents being twice your level as well as having critical which you do not have. This means there is no future for mid level warlords to continue playing as such.
