If this is the Blood Brothers quest I'm thinking of, the two are not related.
The only requirement to enter Wysteria is to be level 25. If Merle doesn't have a mark above his head, and you are above level 25, you might want to go check with Mr. Lincoln in Golem Court. You might have clicked through all of Merle's speech accidentally.

You might mean wintertusk. You must have misread some notes. If you were level 25, and you did the blood brothers quest... Wow. I don't think they intended that.
