I only recently acquired crowns, and realized that this means that I can now summon a henchman to help me in battle.
Trouble is, it is so difficult to navigate the henchman menu, that by the time I even realize what it is that is going on on it, the timer runs out, and I am forced to pass.
So, I try again the second time, getting re-acquainted with the menu, and it shows the level 80 henchmen first. Well, I don't need one that strong, nor do I want to pay that much. One at or below my level will be better, now where are they? Whoops! Timer runs out. I am forced to pass again.
So, I try again. Deciding ahead of time what level I want, and trying to figure out the school. Life sounds good, so I can occasionally get healed, now where is it? Whoops! Timer runs out! By now, I am down to half my health.
Isn't there some faster method that can be designed for acquiring a henchman?
I know what you mean; I've had that trouble too. Eye hand co-ordination and I aren't on speaking terms some days. lol I've hired the wrong school sometimes also which can be a pain.
Another problem I have is when the henchmen are just plain messing up during the battle. Wasting my traps, extreme fizzling, healing themselves while I'm barely hanging on, etc. I've wished sometimes that I could fire the rascals.

It doesn't take that long~ as long as you know what level/school you want your henchman to be from, the process only takes about 2 seconds, from beginning to end; in the Crowns shop, they're sorted by level and in descending (highest to lowest) order.
My favourite: Salvus, the level 50 Life henchman. He's a healer, not really a hitter... so he keeps me alive and (because my main wizard is Balance and her traps are universal) don't have to worry about him taking my buffs.
