I was pretty disappointed to see the life minion cheats in the exalted Krokopatra duel in response to a sublethal Dragon:
1) Mass triage on all as soon as a DOT is cast 2) Heal other minions and boss back from the dead
We get it, we are supposed to muster enough damage to kill on first hit, and not rely on spamming low pip AOEs to get the job done.
But this unfairly penalizes schools whose major damage AOEs are also DOTs, e.g. fire dragon, snow angel, and sometimes avenging fossil.
The same structural flaw is present in the Aphrodite Two battle where a DOT of any kind spurs a flurry of recursive cheats that often leave the team utterly dead before they finally run out of triggers.
Even if the DOT would have killed on the initial damage and not even need the first tick, it is detected as a DOT and the team "punished".
Guess this means fire and ice are right out.
The end effect is, to cause problems at the sigil for ice and fire. They either agree to heal and support, or they don't get to run.
Now, while there are no shortages of storm and death and life wiz around who will hit, sometimes the only one you get on your team, is one whose damage is on the low end, or whose accuracy isn't so great, or who would need support that the other team mates cannot give. Sadly, they will get picked for teams and ice/fire will be told "no we don't want to run with you".
There are other, less obvious ways the more common cheats since "Four Dungeons" update tend to reward teams with storm hitters, and discourage or punish teams with other schools hitting.
For instance, "No Blades Allowed!" cheats in battles against multiple bosses. You could try to feint each one multiple times, incurring huge risk of sudden death.... or you could just find a storm hitter and have everyone do a type of windstorm.
Frequent Earthquake effects and, paradoxically, Storm bosses who love to bugs, also steer teams away from hitters who rely on blades and DOTs.
Which leaves me wondering. Could the devs be doing something differently, to increase the difficulty but without excluding entire schools from the MVP list? If this is not possible, could there be one or two dungeons out there where a well-timed DOT AOE is the right move, and preferred to an all-or-nothing move like tempest?
