we should have the option to skip spells

Okay, so after level 42 you learn all the spells from your main school, and then you have a lot of training points left over and you want to get a certain spell from a certain school yet you can't unless you want to spend all your saved up training points to get that spell you want.

I think when we're spending our training points for our secondary schools we should have the option to skip the spells we don't want to learn, because I personally don't want to spend my training points on spells I don't even want just to get to that one spell I want.

Especially if that certain spell is near the end, and spending countless TP on spells just to get to that spell can get annoying.

So I think we should have the option to skip spells when training into our secondary schools, because we can with Niles (the balance tree in Krokotopia) and other trainers that aren't the 7 main teachers in Ravenwood, why can't we do that with them?

It's because we have to learn the very basics (fiery kittens aren't very strong) before we become masters of the universe (I'm pretty sure we'd all run if we saw an elephant demon of fire holding a massive sword). Morganthe didn't care about the lower level spells either; she nearly killed the spiral. They're needed to teach us patience and also to teach people using mastery amulets not to use them. For some reason I still don't understand KI won't let us learn powerful spells in our secondary schools.

So, what you're asking for is that an off-school student should get an advantage over a school student when getting spells. How could that be considered fair? Using training points for these spells is the penalty we pay for going off-school... and they're in a specific order because that's the way the school student would learn them. To give an option to a non-school student is not consistent with the system.
Balance spells are a bit of a different duck. The spells Niles offers are complementary in that they enhance the other six schools... it wouldn't make sense for a Spirit-based school member to have to train Elemental Blade prior to Spirit-blade. Likewise with Elemental and spirit traps.
FYI - I'd wager that the majority of maxed-out wizards still have training points left over so don't worry too much about wasting the TP.
Also, look at the potential uproar this would cause. Every wizard that's come before you has had to "train" their way up to the spells they want. For instance, the tried and true standard is Ice to Tower, Life to Satyr, Death to Feint etc. etc. If the new standard was that you could now train any spell, any time, then all of those previous wizards should then technically be eligible to have a boatload of TP returned to them, no? Should those of us that have followed one or more of the above strategies now be allowed to pick and choose from those "unwanted" spells we previously had to train and turn those back in for our TP?
