Life Kol Shadowsong?

The fire boss in Ravenscar, Kol Shadowsong, used absorb. This is strange because
Kol is fire. I checked the wiki and it didn't list absorb. Is this super rare or a glitch?

It is not unusual for a boss to cast a spell outside of their school. They have lots of tricks up their sleeve.
