I have been reading a lot of posts on here trying to gain knowledge on how to and best ways to play W101! I have seen posts and chapters in the players guide about crown gear. I have not been able to play for a week so I have not seen the crown gear or anything that you purchase with crowns! I am wondering if you can earn crowns in game? Is crown gear better than in game earnable gear? I am not someone who likes to spend actual money to buy in game items. If crown gear is the best gear I think that gives wealthy people who play the game a distinct advantage over those less fortunate players! Im not trying to complain just trying to figure everything out.
Crown gear is purchased in the in game crown shop. It is the easiest to obtain and usually has better stats than common gear found in game or at bazaar. Crowns do cost real money to obtain, no way to significantly earn. However there is other gear that is either rare dropped from bosses or crafted that can rival crown gear. It really comes down to how you want to obtain and what you want, as each is exclusive to that way of obtaining, crown, rare drop, crafted. Each method only allows you to get certain items or sets. I've found the best is to mix a bit of all to obtain the stats I want.
