I recently logged back into Wizard101 after being away from the game for a while. After hearing lots of rumors about updated content (which I had HOPED would include a new world) what did we really gain from this? In my opinion? As a long time user (6 years now) I found these updates sorely lacking in any real merit. I do not believe that they actually added anything but trash-content. Ultra pets? Ultra dungeons? For goodness sake, ultra SEEDS? Is it me or does it seem like KI has lost touch with what some of its users really crave; a new world, new spells, more in depth quests, etc? I am not trying to sound too negative here but I was extremely disappointed in these updates and am letting my paid account lapse, at least until they add something worthwhile that will bring me back. My apologies to the KI team at Wizard101, but I am afraid you have driven away someone who was, at least at one point, a very devoted player.
I'm not sure why you were expecting a new world that soon. Based on past history and the time needed to create a world and begin a new story arc, the soonest we could realistically expect a world would be fall or winter. Many players have not finished the existing worlds, or still want to upgrade gear and explore side areas. Over the past year we've been given lots of new bosses, dungeons, powerful gear items, and upgrades to game features. There's a lot to do.
The summer update provides lots more to do, and should keep us busy for a while if we use it. I'm not sure how top-tier boss drops, or the ability to add a talent of our choice to all our pets could be considered "trash-content". I think it's great.
Have you actually tried all the new content, or are you reflexively dismissing it because it isn't a new main world?
