Just wondering, do most of you make your character's last names so people can tell your school at a glance? For example, two of my wizards are Storytamer (a Myth) and Frostslinger (an Ice). I have several others, and my original wizard's last name is Spellbringer because I was not naming them that way at first.

I did just the reverse. At first, the last name was school-related (like, StormWalker). Now I look for something different (like StarBreeze - has nothing to do with schools).
I didn't use any school based naming conventions, kinda keeps with theme of our character being from world that doesn't have/believe in magic. I've also seen several people who name their wizard after their opposing school. "But a rose by any other name..."
