Hello! I have just made my way to the final Azteca dungeon! After I finish with it, I plan on getting an upgrade to my gear (WaterWorks). I was planning on farming Tartarus, but many things I have read have made me question whether that is a good idea or not (stories of people playing Tartarus 100+ times and not getting a single item). If I was devoted to farming Tartarus for about a week, two to four times a day, would it be worth it? Or would I be more likely to get one item and nothing else? If so, what would be the best gear for a level 90 besides crafted gear or Tartarus gear? Again, please no crafted gear recommendations, as I do not have the time to level up on crafting. Sorry for the long message, please reply with ideas, and possibly even your own Tartarus gear experience? Thanks,

hi lenora~ congrats on your level up! based on your requirements and preferences, your waterworks gear is still your best bet and will easily get you to level 100.
my death wizard kept his waterworks hat and cape, though i crafted the level 86 azteca boots (for extra resist and block). then, as he leveled up, i left his hat as is and crafted the khrysalis robe and boots at level 96.
depending on your play-style, you can mix and match crafted pieces with your waterworks gear to find a combo that works for you. for example, someone who plays the game solo will have different priorities from someone who has a group of regular questing buddies; a solo player needs to be self-sustaining and will likely place high importance on defensive stats (resist, crit block), but someone who plays with friends may value a certain skill-set (most often healing or high damage) depending on what his or her role in the group is (healer, tank, hitter, etc.).
that said, i strongly advise against farming tartarus. i did it for over a year on 3 wizards and only ever saw one piece of gear... so, if you don't have time for crafting (which is far less time-consuming and gives you better, more-balanced stats/guaranteed results), then you certainly don't have time for farming.

Hello Von, Thank you very much for your reply, it has actually helped me very much! Based on what you have said, I plan on keeping my Waterworks gear and taking extra time to level up on my crafting (may take a while, but based on this and what I've seen, it's worth it). Have fun questing!
I am in a similar position because I am a level 92 storm wizard with waterworks gear. I think I will try to make it work until I can get Darkmoor gear. I feel like that is a safer bet than doing both Tartarus and Darkmoor a million times. I hope this helped! - Gabrielle Silversword
You could do every crafting quest needed to level up, then craft a full set of gear and build a house in less time that it would take to get a set of Tartarus gear, which you would replace in 10 levels anyway.
Just stay with whatever you've been using until you reach 100. Farming Tartarus is a waste of time.
