Hello guys! I get the question a lot concerning balance without Loremaster and if balance can even 'work' without it. The simple answer is yes balance can work, and triumph, in PVP. Loremaster by far is one of the strongest spells in game for balance or to use with mastery with other schools. In fact you see it a lot with mastery amulets at grandmaster PVP (50-59). But how does a balance win without brainlessly spamming Loremaster with an Infallible up? Balance gains two excellent spells are levels 72 and 75 respectively. One is Super Nova, 72, and it is almost broken in it's sheer power. For two pips it cranks out 535 base damage and destroys the targets aura and hits over 800 with a colossal enchant. Though it has the horrid accuracy of 60% and can only be used if target has an aura, with an infallible it usually hits and does around 1k (Depending on your damage and opponents resist). The other spell you gain, 75, is Mana Burn. This spell is also very strong with 100% accuracy and gets rid of three pips, even power, from your opponent. The attack does 85 for every pip your opponent has and the spell costs five pips. If you only has five pips and your opponent is full, it's like a less pip judge that does almost the same damage plus your opponent losses pips. slapping your opponent with huge amounts of damage when ever the store pips is great so be sure to use it!
After that brief intro I will go over some basic strategies and tips.
Balance + Life Mastery -
This strategy uses satyr and pixie with power pips to provide solid healing to provide a good defense to go with balances natural offense. I trained to tower, infection, stun blocks, and life up to satyr for this set up and this strategy is recommended for newer players to PVP. Basically you keep your opponent in check with your shields and weaknesses you occasionally hit them with damage here and there while you bide your time for a feint judge combo, or regular judge if your opponent is weak enough. Some to "hit them with damage" is to infallible and Super Nova every time an aura comes up along with keeping their pips in check with burn. colossal scorpions hurt as well if you have good damage/pierce. So to wrap it up, Slowly trim your opponent until you can finish them with judge or any spell that will kill in one shot.
Balance + Chimera blade stacking -
This is a unique strategy and plays off the fact that you can use it with your opponent having a tower on or something. Basically you do the same thing as the previous strategy but you need to load up on blades, infallible, then boom! You hit them with a Chimera they won't forget. Follow up hits, if it doesn't kill, are things like judge. Warning - you should have infects on before chimera so hey can't heal if it doesn't kill.
So to wrap things up, Loremaster is truly a pain to get and a lot of people don't want to try. I hope these strategies help you in PVP and get you to the warlord rank you may desire!
Good basic idea, still remember that there are those Storms and people that made an effort to get lore will destroy you well before you get pips/blades for Chimera. If all you're trying to do is get the Commander robe for the looks, the by all means, this should work to get to Commander/low Warlord, but it won't measure up against fast paced pressure matches. For gear, my suggestion would be to use Meowiarty Archmage Challenge/crafted gears. However, if you're planning on more serious delving into pvp, then go for full crafted with Terror/Road Warrior pack wands and CRAFT LOREMASTER. It's not easy, especially the Zafaria crafting quest, but it's well worth the time.
