It was your choice to train that school but anyway if you have crowns to spare, you could buy back your training points and try again. I suggest getting: Life to satyr Ice to tower Balance to spirit blade if myth/death/life or elemental blade if ice/storm/fire. Sun to colossal If enough points death to feint. Hope I helped.
Okay, this can be answered simply. If you are going against your own school they have great defense against they're own schools. This is where secondary schools are nice. I do understand that having to wait on normal pips to cast them is annoying without a mastery amulet. But realize one thing, if you don't want to wait on a convert to cast. Secondary schools can be very helpful.
I'm a Life promethean and my secondary is fire. It's true that for some people their secondary schools are no help at all. The original reason is so you can use another school to fight somebody of your own school without having to use prisms. Nowadays people mostly use prisms - especially because there are mass prisms which save a LOT of time and pain. I myself find myself using fire sometimes with a boss. Especially if im fighting a myth boss because they can use a legend shield (I think thats what its called...) which is life AND death and i cant use a prism to get around the shields and it just gets tiring for me to get rid of the shields (although now I have spiny which is great for getting off a series of shields) so my secondary school is extremely helpful for that. Also we have secondary schools partly so if desired we can have more of a healing spell than fairy if your secondary school is life - of course, several schools do have their own heals too like storm, death and balance. Also people sometimes just like other schools better than their own. I agree 100% that not getting any new spells for your secondary school takes away some of the purpose of having it, especially since you would need better spells to use it in higher worlds like azteca or avalon. That's probably part of the purpose of the new mastery amulets.
Whenever I start a new wizard, I do one secondary school for them, (NEVER THE OPPOSITE,) usually life, except for my death of course. I use secondary spells till I am a magus; then I ditch them and only use my primary school. If course, if my secondary is life, I keep the heals, but anyway... It depends on whether you want to use converts or whether you are prepared to be patient and use your secondary school, with or without a mastery amulet. Have a wonderful day!
