If there is a reagent that you can't seem to find, always check with the vendors. You can find them (usually) a few feet away from the person who gave you the quest. For example, in Olde Town, you get the crafting quest from Eudora Tangletree, and a few feet away there is a Colossus (don't know the name) who will sell you Black Coal (I think) for cheap cheap cheap. Or you can go to the Bazaar, but I've found that those items are more expensive (though marginally) if you purchase them there.
1. Go to the man beside Gloria Kendrell, and he sells both of them I think.
2. The Bazaar, these are two things that will most of the time be there, and depending on how many you need the cost shouldn't be that much anyways, and same for the first idea.
