It sounds like you are way under leveled here. Instead of wasting gold on treasure cards, go back and do the following: Do side quests to level up Make sure you have the best gear available for your level Rework your deck setup.
None of my wizards have ever struggled like that in Mooshu; I've done this with wizards from each school.

I am level 44, I take breaks after doing another long "Kill 8-10 enemies" quest.
So I use scarecrow treasure cards, I have alot of gold.
Hi, You should not be relying on tcs because if you dont have high enough level spells, it is hard to quest in a world like Mooshu. Side Quest if necessary. Also, use only your school cards if availible because power pips can only be used for that school, unless with a mastery amulet. Hope that helped!

I use spirit blade and wait a few turns.

Pretty much sums up mooshu.
Therein lies your problem. Stop buying scarecrow; if you trained Death, you can easily use the spells trained. You do not need treasure cards. You are Life, you are a healer. Use your spells; I used no secondary school at all after Krok and am 3/4 of the way through Zafaria now.
