Yes, you can get more than one Blade for the Fire School. I believe that every School can get more than one Blade.

Check out this list for all of the Blade Spells:

On that list, you can click on any Spell for more details, like "how you obtain the Spell".

For the Fire School, you can get these Spells:

Your friend probably had the Spells for their School, like "Balanceblade" for the Balance School.
